About the role
We'rehiring a VP of Market Surveillanceto run hands‑on surveillance acrossaCFTC-regulateddesignated contractmarket(DCM)and to help define how we do that work at scale.You'llmonitortrading activity, investigate suspicious behavior, and buildcases.You'llalso bring deep exchange-side and regulatoryexpertiseinto the room, shaping detection logic, surveillance strategy, and the product itself.This role coversboth real-time trade monitoring and post-trade surveillance across regulated sports eventcontract prediction markets.

This is a builder's role. You know how surveillance is supposed to work at a real exchange, and you have ideas about how to do it better.This is a VP-levelpositionwithroom to grow into the function as it scales.

Whatyou'lldo:

Run real‑timemonitoringand post-trade surveillance across regulatedsportseventcontractstoidentifymarket abuse, including wash trading, spoofing, manipulative order behavior, and insider trading patterns

Own investigations end to end. Build the case, document findings, and elevate to Compliance, Legal, and regulators when appropriate

Translate surveillance practice into product. Work with engineering and data science to define detection logic, tune alerts, cut false positives, and sharpen the tooling

Build and refine the surveillance framework: alert thresholds, review procedures, escalation paths, and controls mapped to CFTC DCMCorePrinciples

Partner across Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Engineering to strengthen systems and workflows

Help define team standards and structure as surveillance scales

5+ years in marketmonitoring andsurveillance,market regulation and investigations,compliance, or market integrity ataDCM, afuturescommission merchant (FCM),or a regulatory body (CFTC, NFA,CME,or similar)

Working knowledge of CFTC-regulated markets and DCMCorePrinciples, with real depth on market surveillance and manipulation (CFTC Regulation Part 38 andCore Principles 2 through 5)

Proven hands‑on experience:you'verun the alerts, built the cases, andwrittenthe reports yourself

Strategic instinct: you see howmonitoring andsurveillance can be done more efficiently and can help form the approach, not just execute a playbook

Strong analytical skills and comfort working directly with trading data to find subtle patterns

Clear writing and communication for technical, non-technical, and regulatory audiences

High integrity, sound judgment under pressure, and a firm commitment to confidentiality and market integrity

Preferredskills, notrequired:

Proficiencyin SQL and Python for building analyses, notebooks, and data pipelines

Experience with trade surveillance platformssuch asEventus, EP3 (Connamara),or other similar platforms

Familiarity with prediction markets and event contracts

Familiarity with sports integrity data and event outcome sources (e.g.,SportradarIntegrity Services, IC360, official league data feeds)

Backgroundand experience at a DCM, FCM, orregulatory body

Experience standing up or scaling a surveillance function from an early stage

Experiencestandingup,scaling, ordesigning monitoring and surveillance systemsfrom an early stage

Compensation:
The target base pay for this position is$160,000-170,000.An annual bonus will be provided as part of the cash compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.

This is an onsite position based at our offices in New York City, NY.
