Part-Time Reporter

To support a growing network of local newsletters, the part-time temporary Reporter will write high-impact local news items, contribute to newsletters and social media, and collaborate with editors while working remotely across the U.S.
Key responsibilities

Write concise local news pieces in Axios' Smart Brevity style, often with a daily turnaround
Jump on timely stories, events, and trends while contributing to various platforms
Collaborate with editors and fill longer coverage gaps as needed

Required qualifications

Strong news judgment and experience with audience-focused writing
Ability to meet deadlines and adapt quickly to feedback
Omnivorous curiosity and enthusiasm for diverse reporting topics
Familiarity with Smart Brevity style or willingness to learn
Experience working in a remote environment and strong communication skills
