The Digital Media Specialist implements marketing strategies and executes content across the Wyoming, Montana and Utah digital channels. These include social media accounts (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram), email and nature.org web pages. The Digital Media Specialist advances conservation goals by reaching targeted audiences with key messages about our work in Wyoming, Montana and Utah. They create, implement, manage and measure content and campaigns on multiple social media platforms (currently Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter). They are responsible for building and updating website content as well as working with marketing staff to craft site promotions, email newsletters, digital invitations, and online outreach campaigns. They work closely with their team and key stakeholders to set goals for each chapter’s digital engagement and develop content that 1) aligns with our organizational priorities and values, 2) matches our brand voice and tone, and 3) helps establish our position as an expert on key conservation issues (e.g. natural climate solutions, sustainable agriculture, and land and water conservation). They help advance our social media strategy by bringing new knowledge and thinking to our existing platforms and helping us establish baselines and goals for new platforms (e.g. YouTube). They also support integrated digital advocacy campaigns and work with marketing leaders to develop and execute a visibility strategy for chapter leadership by posting new content on behalf of leaders and developing recommendations for best practices on key platforms (e.g. LinkedIn). They manage the online communities on these platforms, engaging with commenters and other handles as necessary, to build our audience size and influence conversations relevant to our work. They use software systems to track, analyze and report web metrics and social media trends, and they make strategic recommendations based on those metrics and trends. Periodic travel is required to complete work and for meetings and team retreats.

As Digital Media Specialist for Wyoming, Montana, and Utah, you will:

Coordinate and execute an editorial calendar for multiple social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Collaborate with staff across job functions and geographies to ensure our social media presence is aligned with our organizational priorities and values.

Oversee a process of regular web site review and development to enhance chapter’s digital presence.

Track and report on metrics and trends relevant to our social media accounts and web pages.

Make recommendations for how to iterate our social media approach to best reach our target audiences and advance our conservation goals.

Produce compelling digital content for web and email that drives engagement.

Operate within a budget to complete assigned projects or work.

Work with vendors/other parties to execute projects/deliverables.

Experience creating and posting social media content on behalf of an organization.

Experience managing multiple social media accounts.

Experience in marketing to diverse audiences.

Experience producing web pages and e-mail newsletters.

Solid knowledge of best practices for social media metrics reporting.

Experience with social media scheduling software (e.g. Khoros)

Experience with design software (e.g. Canva) as well as photo and video editing software (e.g., Adobe CS).

Experience with email software such as MailChimp.

Experience with web production and content management systems (e.g., AEM).

Enthusiasm for developing knowledge of social media trends and evolving platforms.

Experience implementing virtual events or live events with virtual components.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Practical knowledge of marketing and project management principles.

Experience with science or conservation communications.

Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience cultivating and managing client/customer relationships.

Experience writing, editing and proofreading.

Experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects.

SALARY INFORMATION
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $51,000 – $81,000 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate’s location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
