Job Description:
The Senior Director, Pipeline Marketing Lead will serve as a strategic leader within the marketing organization and will be responsible for leading commercial strategy development and launch readiness planning for pipeline/BD assets across the company portfolio. Reporting to the VP Marketing, this individual will define integrated commercialization strategies from pre-launch through launch execution, leveraging deep market insights, competitive intelligence, customer engagement strategies, and cross-functional collaboration to maximize asset value. This role will partner closely with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, Commercial Operations, Business Development, Sales Leadership, Finance, and R&D to ensure pipeline products are positioned for successful market entry and long-term growth. The individual will play a key role in shaping future commercial capabilities, launch excellence standards, and organizational readiness.
Essential Job Functions
Lead the development of integrated commercialization and launch strategies for pipeline assets, including market shaping, positioning, segmentation, targeting, and customer engagement planning
Develop and operationalize launch excellence frameworks, including launch readiness milestones, governance processes, KPIs, and cross-functional execution plans
Partner with Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Market Access teams to ensure commercial insights are incorporated into development and access strategies
Lead forecasting, market assessments, competitive intelligence, and opportunity sizing to support pipeline prioritization and strategic decision-making
Drive development of pre-launch and launch omnichannel engagement strategies for healthcare practitioners, patients, caregivers, advocacy organizations, and key stakeholders
Establish strategic brand positioning, value proposition, messaging platforms, and customer experience strategies for pipeline products
Lead cross-functional launch planning meetings and ensure alignment across commercial, medical, finance, supply chain, legal, and compliance teams
Support business development evaluations by providing commercial assessments, market analyses, and launch feasibility perspectives for potential assets
Develop executive-level presentations and updates for senior leadership, commercial management, and Board of Directors meetings
Partner with Commercial Operations and Analytics teams to develop launch metrics, dashboards, and performance tracking capabilities
Lead agency and external partner relationships to ensure strategic alignment and high-quality execution of launch initiatives
Ensure all promotional and launch planning activities are executed in compliance with corporate policies, FDA regulations, and Medical/Legal/Regulatory review requirements
Mentor and develop marketing talent while fostering a high-performance, collaborative, and accountability-driven culture
Identify innovative commercial opportunities and future-forward capabilities to accelerate growth and competitive differentiation
Skills and Qualifications
MBA from an accredited college or university in marketing, strategy, or related field required.
Minimum of 12+ years of U.S. pharmaceutical/biotech commercial experience with at least 8+ years in strategic marketing, launch planning, or pipeline commercialization roles
Demonstrated experience leading pre-launch and launch strategy development for specialty, rare disease, or endocrine products preferred
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercialization, including market access, patient services, medical engagement, and omnichannel marketing strategies
Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders across matrixed organizations
Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and financial acumen with experience leveraging complex data to drive decisions
Experience developing executive-level business cases, forecasts, and Board-ready strategic presentations
Demonstrated understanding of FDA regulations and promotional compliance requirements
Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire teams and drive accountability in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
High proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and commercial analytics platforms

Working Conditions
Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Overnight travel of up to 25% may be required.
This is a hybrid position based in Xeris' Chicago office and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office. On-site requirements may change at management's discretion.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is
$222,750 - $268,400.

Final determination of the actual base salary offered depends on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skills, experience, education, location, and business needs. Employees are eligible for equity or long-term incentive awards, where applicable. Field Sales role employees are eligible for a quarterly commission structure. Non-Sales role employees are eligible for an annual bonus.
