Position Overview
Shaw is hiring a Reliability Tech C. The Reliability Technician (Level C) is an entry-to-mid level industrial maintenance professional responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment. In this role, you will perform hands‑on maintenance and basic troubleshooting while assisting senior technicians and maintenance leaders on more complex work. You will play an important role in minimizing downtime, maintaining product quality, and building foundational skills in reliability and maintenance practices within a team‑oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Execution of assigned tasks and duties with focus on safe work practices.

High quality, precision work with a customer service orientation supporting “Great Products & Service”.

Adherence to standards and best practice application acquired through training and work experience.

Learn and grow in knowledge of maintenance practices and equipment performance, understanding their impact on manufacturing processes and business objectives.

Provide feedback on job assignment needs and improvement opportunities with peers and leadership.

Maintain manufacturing process and support equipment to the highest reasonable performance levels, including mechanical systems such as power transmission components, conveyance systems, mechanical control systems, and hydraulic & pneumatic elements.

Troubleshoot and execute repairs of equipment that affect safety, quality, downtime, or productivity.

Communicate findings, identify potential causes, and outline correction steps to operations and maintenance leadership.

Execute proactive maintenance plans including preventive maintenance – inspection, measurement, component replacement, and lubrication.

Execute predictive maintenance – data collection with PdM tools related to equipment performance.

Requirements

Safety practices: LOTO, confined space, PPE, PIT, fall protection, hoisting & rigging, and hot work.

Calculator and computer application for work order documentation and parts requisitioning.

Measurement units, techniques, and application of appropriate tools.

Math skills including arithmetic, application of formulas (area, volume, etc.), and conversion of measurement units.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and produce simple sketches.

Identification and proper use of tools, focusing on the right tool for the assignment.

Proper storage and handling of lubricants.

Knowledge of power transmission components, plumbing/piping conveyance systems, precision alignment techniques, basic troubleshooting of mechanical systems, and common failure modes.
