This is a high-impact communications leadership role focused on translating complex climate and energy transition work into compelling narratives that drive influence, funding, and public engagement. You will sit at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and advocacy, shaping how impact is communicated to funders, policymakers, media, and internal leadership. The role requires a strong ability to synthesize data, program outcomes, and organizational wins into clear, credible messaging that strengthens trust and expands reach. You will lead executive communications, elevate thought leadership, and ensure consistent storytelling across multiple channels and audiences. Operating in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, you will help scale visibility and credibility as the organization expands its influence across the renewable energy landscape. This position is fully remote with U.S.-based travel requirements for key events and engagements.
Accountabilities:
In this role, you will lead impact communications strategy across executive, funder, and external stakeholder audiences, ensuring that organizational wins are translated into clear, persuasive narratives that strengthen influence and support growth.
Lead executive communications, including CEO thought leadership, op-eds, LinkedIn content, and speaking engagement positioning
Develop and deliver monthly impact updates and strategic briefings for the Board of Directors
Translate internal program data, research, and results into compelling narratives for external audiences
Manage funder communications including newsletters, webinars, and tailored impact updates
Collaborate with research and program teams to synthesize findings into accessible communications assets
Support media relations strategy, including pitching, press lists, and media engagement coordination
Produce white papers, reports, and visual storytelling assets showcasing organizational impact
Maintain consistent messaging across digital channels, including social media, email, blog, and website content
Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment of communications across campaigns and stakeholder groups
Requirements:
This role requires a seasoned communications professional with strong storytelling ability, analytical thinking, and experience communicating complex subject matter to diverse audiences.
8-10+ years of experience in impact communications, public relations, funder engagement, or related fields
Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone and messaging for different audiences
Experience translating complex data, research, or program outcomes into clear, compelling narratives
Proven ability to manage executive communications and senior stakeholder messaging
Familiarity with funder communications, nonprofit, advocacy, or mission-driven environments preferred
Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Experience working across tools such as CRM platforms, content management systems, and design tools (e.g., Salesforce, WordPress, Canva)
Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to synthesize inputs across multiple teams
High attention to detail, strategic thinking, and strong organizational capabilities
Self-starter mindset with adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments
