Overview Lead User Interface Engineer – Technical Lead at Cox Automotive Corporate Services, LLC (Atlanta, GA). Provide technical leadership across teams to drive architecture, design, performance, and code quality in alignment with department vision and direction.
Responsibilities Provide technical leadership to all teams in the domain to drive architecture, design, performance, and code quality.
Actively participate within Scrum teams to design, develop (write POCs), test, and deploy software using responsive web development principles.
Assist in defining the department’s role in the overall corporate strategy and set aligned objectives.
Promote a high level of technical excellence and ensure coding standards, reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations are followed.
Maintain continual communication with project teams, verifying design-to-build alignment and adjusting solution architecture as needed.
Define and promote best practices and guidelines for resilience, quality, scalability, and performance.
Ensure engineers have the training, tools, and resources required to deliver quality software products.
Anticipate future technology needs, participating in the selection and rollout of new technologies and tools.
Define relevant technical skills needed, including patterns, security, resilience, programming languages, certifications, performance, software design, and documentation.
Collaborate with UX design team to achieve the best possible end‑user experience.
Design and implement React‑based UI components for highly interactive user experiences.
Define APIs for communication to back‑end services.
Optimize front‑end applications for speed, scalability, and reuse.
Lead offshore engineering teams to meet functional requirements, quality, performance, and code stability.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent) with 6 years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing highly scalable, high‑volume software systems and client‑facing web applications; or Master’s degree with 4 years of experience; or Ph.D. with 1 year of experience.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in each of the following areas:
Full software development lifecycle: design, functional and technical requirements, coding, debugging, testing, release, and operational support.
Realizing applications from conception to implementation and support.
Agile software development methodologies, modern API and service design, and object‑oriented programming.
Software development best practices: coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Communicating technical issues to technical, non‑technical, and management groups and presenting to senior leadership.
Developing software or information systems, including transactional applications in heterogeneous environments and multi‑user architectures.
Using CI/CD toolkits (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), building SPAs, Web and RESTful services, and event‑driven architecture.
Working with UI technologies: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, React, and version control (Git, Stash).
Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $155,877 to $204,840, with potential incentive program participation. Benefits include flexible vacation, seven paid holidays, up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually, and additional paid time off (bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer, military, parental leave).
