Job SummaryThe Regional Sales Manager reports to the Sr. Manager, DSD within Crown Bakeries. This position will be responsible for a region wherein they manage and develop growth within the current customer base, focus efforts on acquiring and retaining new strategic customers, and building and maintaining relationships with independent distributors.RESPONSIBILITIES:Achieve annual sales budget by managing “Book of Business” for growth through existing customer growth and retention as well as the successful acquisition of new strategic customersDevelop relationships and leverage the DSD/Independent Distributor network to prospect and grow strategic accountsReview customer sales reports to identify potential issues and address with specific action plansDevelop market specific sales growth plans that include an actively managed pipeline prospect fileAchieve on plan Marketing Spend, Travel & Entertainment and Sample Budget performanceEstablish sales call schedule ensuring adequate coverage of existing and new customersExemplify ability to listen to prospects needs and make recommendations for solutions based on information gathered and analyzedWork closely with regional contacts for Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) to optimize sales growth and profit.Create and present proposals to decision makersOther duties as assigned by the Director of SalesExpected to be in the office 1/2 days per weekQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:Must live in the Charlotte, North Carolina vicinityBachelor’s Degree in Business and/or Marketing OR applicable experience of 5+ years sales experience in lieu of degreeFunctional/Technical SkillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite - Basic Excel RequiredCorporate Applications – SAGE, SEI (training to be provided)Knowledge of the sales cycle as it relates to foodserviceExcellent Verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with multiple levels of management across customer baseCore Competencies:Drive for ResultsProblem SolvingAttention to detailStrong self-starter/time managementPerseverancePositive AttitudeWORK ENVIRONMENT:This job operates predominately in the field (visiting customers), with secondary time in an office environment. There may be rare times when this position is at the physical plant or distribution center. This employee may occasionally be exposed to facility elements such as extreme temperatures, noise, dust, fumes, and odors.
