SUMMARY
The Research Student reports to the Principal Investigator or assigned program manager/supervisor, providing assistance to the project staff as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES

For Clinical Research Programs: Conduct research protocols in conjunction with project staff, including data entry, data cleaning, data analyses, data programming tasks, assisting in the recruitment of participants including telephone screening, assisting research assistants in participant visits, assisting in the collection, processing and storing of biospecimens, literature reviews, serving as a liaison to participants, reminding them of upcoming appointments and monitoring progress between visits.

For Basic Research Programs: Under supervision of the Principal Investigator or designee, perform basic laboratory experiments in the program field, including pipetting, tissue culture, data analysis, and other experimental procedures. Maintain quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control in accordance with established hospital department policies, procedures and objectives. Perform other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a matriculating student in an accredited college program. Basic understanding of computer programs including Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel may be necessary.

EXPERIENCE
For basic research programs, prior exposure/experience within laboratory setting (which may include from laboratory work within educational experience).

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Normal office and/or lab environment. Requires standing, bending, and sitting. Sufficient visual acuity and manual dexterity to use computer keyboard and other common office equipment.

INDEPENDENT ACTION
All work should be under direct supervision of senior faculty member or designee.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
None.

PAY RANGE
$18.00-$25.82 per hour.
