Business Development Manager – Moet Hennessy
Southern Glazer's is a leading wine and spirits distributor. The role focuses on managing and strategically growing Moet Hennessy's business through influential leadership.
Compensation and Benefits
The competitive compensation package includes a first‑year total earnings estimate of $85,000 – $110,000 per year plus bonus, incentives, and auto allowance/reimbursement. Primary Responsibilities
Accountable for achieving revenue, margin, and gross profit targets as set by the Sales Director.
Communicate local program spending effectiveness to maximize the company's profits; help determine ROI on initiatives.
Responsible for achieving category objectives, key performance indicators, and targets by implementing strategies while managing customers to sustain long‑term growth.
Accelerate Moet Hennessy brand growth faster than assigned category in allotted accounts.
Visit assigned account universe regularly.
Partner with sales consultant and area manager to inform and educate about programs, tools, and execution.
Develop key account relationships and become a trusted advisor.
Identify market trends and developments in product categories, geographic regions, and account base; become the category expert compared to competitors.
Advise customers and influence shelf space and menu placements.
Conduct customer staff training on focus categories and brands.
Create, coordinate, and attend on‑site promotional functions (e.g., launches, tastings, dinners).
Sell in account‑level activation, working with agency to execute.
Perform market surveys to document execution.
Track KPIs including PODS, menus, features, display, shelf ads, education, trade engagement, staff trainings, events, digital engagement.
Provide recaps of market opportunities and successes.
Collaborate with CPWS Trade Development & Moet Hennessy supplier teams to localize tools for programming, activation, education, and execution.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
At least 21 years of age.
3–5 years of industry‑related sales experience.
Dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of state registration and insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
Manage and stay within a budget that may be assigned on behalf of the company.
Demonstrate a strategic, analytical thought process.
Clear understanding of financial acumen.
Ability to analyze data to anticipate potential issues and proactively model solutions.
Strong communication, organization, and commercial planning capabilities.
Proficient using Compass, Diver, Excel, and Proof.
Understanding of supplier strategies and ability to align with internal and external teams.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of demonstrated supervisory experience.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects on time and budget.
Knowledge of finance and accounting practices.
Success in building and improving relationships with suppliers and buyers across the geographic region.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and quantitative analysis skills to provide insights into performance and efficiency opportunities.
Strong planning and organizational skills for a fast‑paced environment and to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent customer service skills in all interactions with internal and external customers.
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaboration across different departments, sometimes virtually.
Physical Demands
Physical demands include sitting and typing or using computer equipment for a considerable amount of time.
Occasional walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping.
Work week may exceed 40 hours, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 40 lbs.
