Tokat Institute is hiring: Video Editor in New York

Video Editor & Camera Operator — Part-Time / Project-Based
We're hiring at Tokat Institute — a global academic platform for Islamic intellectual and civilizational thought.

We produce scholar interviews, documentary films, course content, and social media — and we're looking for someone who can own both the shoot and the edit.

This starts as a part-time or project-based role with a clear path to full-time as our production grows.

What you'll do:

Edit lecture recordings, scholar interviews, and short-form content for YouTube, Instagram, and our course platform

Operate the camera on location shoots, scholars, events, and documentary production

Primarily NJ/NY area shoots with occasional travel

What we're looking for:

Strong editing instincts — pacing, color, storytelling

Confident on a real shoot, not just in post

Experience with long-form and short-form content

Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve

Reliable and self-directed across time zones

Bonus:
NJ/NY-based. Background in documentary or academic content.

Competitive pay based on experience
