Production Technician (Open) - Location: Huger, SC (Berkeley) - ASU.
Job Summary
As a Production Technician, you will maintain plant production, operating efficiency, regulatory compliance, and safety across the facility. You will work across multiple plant operations including instrumentation, mechanical systems, and control boards.
Key Responsibilities
Apply plant safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies/procedures to protect the team.
Model safety practices and foster a shared safety culture.
Identify potential maintenance needs and enter them into Maximo for reliable equipment.
Perform work in alignment with standard operating and maintenance procedures, including safe work permits, energy control isolation, lock‑out/tag‑out, confined‑space entry, hot work, etc.
Partner with contractors, visitors, and co‑workers to support compliance with safety policies.
Perform operator rounds, water samples, truck loading, and operations PMs.
Maintain accurate records and documentation per retention policies.
Support plant management with additional team needs as requested.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to work extended hours/shift work as business needs dictate.
Experience or education in instrumentation, rotating equipment, piping systems, or related technical training (2+ years preferred).
Knowledge of regulatory requirements for plant operation (Process Safety Management, EPA, FDA, state/local regulations).
Understanding of lock‑out and isolation procedures.
Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office.
Team‑player with strong verbal / written communication skills.
Ability to use a forklift, man‑lift, and overhead crane preferred.
Highly organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical Associate’s degree.
Prior operations experience.
Physical Requirements
Must wear required PPE including hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and full protective clothing.
Full range of motion; able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Capable of climbing ladders, working off elevated platforms, and entering confined spaces.
Work in non‑conditioned environments for extended periods.
