Hiring range: $20.00 - $26.00/hr. This is a nonexempt (hourly) position. Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. The Economic Mobility Division focuses on connecting residents to the resources, education, and employment opportunities needed to achieve long‑term stability and self‑sufficiency. Through coordinated programs and partnerships, the division works to remove barriers and create clear pathways to economic advancement. Our approach is centered on outcomes, ensuring that residents are supported in making measurable progress.
The Economic Mobility Division consists of MeckSuccess, MeckWorks, More Than A Job NC, Work First Employment Services, Work First Kinship Services and Quality and Training.
Position Specific Summary
This is a part‑time, temporary position.
The Sr. Admin Support Assistant will be a critical member of the Work First Employment Services Team. The selected candidate will support the Department Monday – Friday up to 20 hours a week at either the Valerie C. Woodard or the Catherine M. Wilson Community Resource Center. This position may also provide administrative back‑up to other administrative support functions.
Position Summary
This position provides administrative and data entry support to the Economic Mobility Division, specifically supporting eligibility programs. Working under minimal supervision, the role is responsible for performing advanced administrative functions that require accuracy, confidentiality, and independent judgment. The position plays a key role in ensuring timely and efficient support of EMD programs while maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

Essential Functions
Provide administrative and data entry support to EMD program ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
Respond to internal and external inquiries, identify issues, and resolve routine administrative concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Conduct research to support case processing, program operations, and division initiatives.
Maintain confidentiality at all times; perform secure data entry, and create, organize, and maintain confidential records and files used in EMD programs.
Monitor office supply levels, coordinate ordering, and ensure availability of materials needed for daily operations.
Use computer systems and databases to enter, verify, track, and update information.
Operate and maintain standard office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, scanners, and phone systems; arrange for repair or service when needed.
Manage paper and electronic filing systems, ensuring information is properly recorded, updated, and stored in compliance with records management standards.
Support activities in NC FAST, Salesforce, and NC Works including data entry, document indexing, and assisting staff with workflow tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of four years of administrative experience.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted: Yes.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills using correct grammar, organization, and structure.
Excellent interpersonal, customer service skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software.
Ability to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; determine course of action, develop appropriate solutions.
Ability to develop ideas into plans of action and to coordinate the actions through implementation.
Licenses and Certifications
May require a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License.
May require an Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
