A+ Communications, Security & Home Solutions is a trusted leader in communications, security, audio/video, and automation control. Our experienced team specializes in customizing services to fit customers' specific needs, whether it be for home entertainment and safety or workplace productivity and security. A+ Communications & Security is seeking a Technician Level 2 for its Audio/Video Department. The Technician installs and services all aspects of audio video equipment including TVs, digital menu boards, large venue speakers, background music, sound masking, production equipment, and video conferencing equipment. Travel is 100% within an 8‑state area.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Identify and manage safety hazards related to the general public as well as maintaining project safety in accordance with specified safety guidelines.
Decipher blueprints to determine cabling pathways, elevation heights, and coordinate with other trades on the project.
Pull and terminate a variety of low‑voltage cabling.
Complete rack layout and fabrication.
Assist the A/V Service Manager with project planning, installation, and service.
Demonstrate independent judgment and fiscal responsibility.
Communicate effectively; interact well and build trust with the project team, leadership, subcontractors, and suppliers, demonstrating teamwork.
Take initiative to communicate and improve company procedures and processes.
Deal effectively with varying workload requirements, frequent changes, delays, and/or unexpected events.
Consistently meet established quality standards.
Thoroughly test systems prior to turnover to the client for first‑time use.
Continue to develop technical and analytical skills by working with customers, attending training, and reading product manuals.
Maintain and protect all tools, equipment, and materials for assigned projects.
Report to work on time, adhere to company policies and guidelines, and present a professional image to the client.
Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Education and Experience
High School or equivalent is required. Similar or related work experience is preferred but not required. Hire is contingent on passing a DOT physical/drug screen and continuing to hold a DOT Class C license certification.
Physical Requirements
Frequent to constant lifting, carrying, kneeling, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Must be familiar and comfortable working at various elevations using a ladder and/or man‑lift.
Some night and weekend work.
Equipment Used to Perform Job
Proficient use of an iPad and laptop computer with Microsoft Office, a man‑lift, and employee‑supplied hand tools.
