Regional Community Engagement Manager

The African Think Tank (TATT) is a nonprofit organization committed to fostering belonging while facilitating the professional, entrepreneurial, and economic transformation of the African Diaspora. Through networking events, educational workshops, leadership development, and cultural programming, TATT connects people, builds community, and creates opportunities for growth.

As TATT continues expanding across the United States and globally, we are seeking a passionate and community-minded Volunteer Regional Community Engagement Manager to strengthen our presence in the Dallas–Fort Worth region.

Position Summary
The Regional Community Engagement Manager is a volunteer leadership role responsible for cultivating an active and engaged TATT community across the Dallas–Fort Worth region. Reporting to the Regional Director, this individual serves as the primary point of contact for member engagement, helping build meaningful relationships both online and in person.

The successful candidate will administer the regional WhatsApp community, encourage participation in TATT programs, represent the organization at community events, support regional Mixers, and help foster partnerships that strengthen TATT's presence throughout the region.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing people together, building relationships, and creating spaces where members feel welcomed, informed, and inspired to engage.

Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement

Administer and moderate the DFW regional WhatsApp community.

Welcome and onboard new members into the regional community.

Foster meaningful discussions through conversation starters, polls, announcements, and member spotlights.

Encourage participation in TATT Thrive, Mixers, TATT Talks, volunteer opportunities, and other programs.

Respond to member inquiries and direct questions to the appropriate leadership when needed.

Maintain a welcoming, respectful, and mission-aligned online community.

Regional Events & Programming

Support the Regional Director with planning and executing TATT Growth Mindset Mixers and regional events.

Assist with event logistics, registration, attendee experience, and follow-up communications.

Capture photos, testimonials, and community stories for TATT's communications team.

Community Outreach & Partnerships

Represent TATT at community events, networking functions, cultural celebrations, and partner activities throughout the DFW region.

Build relationships with African-owned businesses, community organizations, universities, faith-based institutions, and professional associations.

Identify opportunities for collaboration and regional growth.

Promote TATT's mission and recruit new members, volunteers, and supporters.

Membership Growth

Help grow and retain the regional membership community.

Encourage members to actively engage both online and at in-person events.

Follow up with new attendees and help integrate them into the TATT community.

Time Commitment
Approximately 6–8 hours per week, with flexibility around scheduled events. Some evenings and weekends will be required to attend community events and TATT programming.
