Instrumental Ensemble Advisor
Job Description: Supervising, managing, and assisting students playing a musical instrument as part of a group, and coordinating sounds, gestures, and musical ideas with other musicians.

Effective: 2026–2027 School Year

Qualifications

Experience: Must have experience playing instruments and an assortment of families of instruments.

Skills: They should be able to read printed music, and have knowledge of musical conducting, rehearsal techniques, and transpositions.

Education: Background in teaching music to elementary and middle school age students.

Essential Functions

Organizing musical supplies including instruments, distribution of instruments, and rehearsals.

Planning for and overseeing musical performances.

Playing, rehearsing, and performing in front of an audience or participating in competitions, and coordinating schedules for trips and competitions.

Other duties as assigned by Administration.

Has read and understands obligations as outlined in MNSD School Board Policies.

Frequency of meetings: Weekly

Approximate number of students enrolled: 50+, Students in 4th and 5th grades

Clearances: In accordance with school code, Act 24 and all related clearances.
