The pay range is $58,100.00 - $104,600.00. Pay is based on several factors that vary by position, including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

About the Role
As an Associate Designer – Women’s Performance on the Design team, you will support Owned Brand Product Design and Development. Working with design leaders, you will help achieve overall product design strategy and merchant objectives. You will partner with merchant and sourcing teams to ensure brand cohesion, continuity, and alignment with merchant line plans, assortment strategies, price points, and creative direction.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a diligent and self‑directed approach to workload, and provide accurate and timely communication to internal and external partners.
- Support product and trend research, trend concepts, color selection, and design/development of products.
- Assist in preparing product specifications and developing trim, print, embellishment, and hardware packages.
- Translate ideas using CAD and hand sketches, completing design/technical sketches and professional presentation boards and materials for meetings and vendor partners.
- Collaborate closely with the Technical Design department to communicate fit and construction details.
Qualifications
- Four‑year degree in Design, Fine Art, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of experience in product design.
- Proficiency with design systems such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Experience with CAD illustration or 2D/3D software.
- Ability to stay aware of trends and fashion.
- Understanding of textiles, garment construction/fit, raw materials, and product production.
- Experience incorporating product feedback.
- Ability to research and apply market and trend information.
- Ability to build strong partnerships to work effectively in a team environment.
Working Arrangements & Policies
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement. The core role must be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location assigned and virtually, depending on role, team, and tasks. Work duties cannot be performed outside the country of the primary work location unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
Team members in the Target General Merch Inc operating company are prohibited from working more than thirty (30) days per calendar year in the following states: AL, AR, DE, FL, IN, IA, LA, MD, MS, MO, NC, OK, PA, SC, TN, and VA. If hired, you will be prohibited from working remotely from any of those states for more than thirty (30) days per calendar year.
