Playbill, Inc. · NH, USA ·

Pay:
$400/week
Job type:
Full Time

NCCA at Jean's Playhouse is Seeking an immediate IMPACT Director / Tour Manager for Summer 2026. IMPACT is NCCA's professional touring children's theatre program, performing six original 45‑minute musical fairytales throughout New Hampshire during the summer season.

IMPACT Director / Tour Manager: $400/week + shared, dorm‑style housing.

Dates of Employment: June 22 – August 15, 2026 (7 weeks; however, if available immediately, it would be valuable to add half a week to arrive early for prep).

The IMPACT company consists of five actors, a Director / Tour Manager, and a Stage Manager. Each week, the company rehearses and performs a different original musical fairytale, touring to libraries, recreation programs, camps, parks, and community venues throughout New Hampshire. The Director/Tour Manager is responsible for staging and choreographing each production, collaborating with the Music Director and Stage Manager, managing relationships with host venues, and overseeing the day‑to‑day operation of the tour. The Stage Manager and Director together collaborate to pull props and small furniture each week. The company may perform up to seven performances per week during mornings and early afternoons while rehearsing the following week's production during evenings.

As a touring troupe, all company members assist with loading and unloading the set, driving company vehicles, interacting with children and families after performances, and serving as ambassadors for NCCA throughout the state. Successful candidates should be organized, collaborative, flexible, energetic, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced touring environment. A valid driver's license is strongly preferred.

NOTE ON HOUSING: A lot of our company are between the ages of 19 and 28, so candidates should know the demographic of people they'd be living with. The rooms are rustic, dorm‑like, and there are a few people per room. Due to the housing and nature of the schedule, this position often appeals to newer directors in their mid to late 20s.

Located in the heart of New Hampshire's White Mountains, NCCA at Jean's Playhouse serves thousands of children and families each year through professional theatre and arts education programming.

Interested applicants should submit a resume and cover letter to . Director candidates are encouraged to include directing materials or portfolios. Qualified applicants will be contacted to schedule an interview.
