Overview
This is an in‑house legal attorney role that supports DICK’S growth strategy. The attorney will partner with lead deal counsel on structuring, negotiating, and advising on a broad range of strategic initiatives, commercial transactions, vendor partnerships, and other growth and collaboration opportunities.

The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative attorney (3–5+ years) with strong commercial drafting and negotiation skills coupled with practical, business‑oriented judgment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Deal Negotiation, Management and Drafting- Coordinate with lead deal counsel to structure, negotiate, and draft agreements for a broad range of commercial transactions, including partnership and strategic collaboration agreements, term sheets, letters of intent, joint business and co‑marketing arrangements, licensing arrangements, merchandise agreements, and vendor and services agreements supporting retail, marketing, and technology initiatives.
- Drive end‑to‑end deal execution, manage timelines, and deliver clear, actionable deal communications.
- Provide practical, business‑oriented advice to key stakeholders throughout the deal lifecycle.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve legal, regulatory, and strategic risks across commercial deals by engaging and coordinating with subject matter experts across the legal department.
- Collaborate with business development, merchandising, technology, marketing, finance, and other cross‑functional teams to solve complex problems and advance deal objectives.
- Partner with and manage outside counsel on key transactions and significant matters.
- Participate and assist in department projects and initiatives.
- Support continuous process improvement and data‑driven decision‑making.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (JD).
- 3–5 years of experience.
- Experience working in a law firm and/or corporate legal department.
- M&A and deal experience strongly preferred.
