North Hill Church is a new contemporary church planting in Fort Payne, AL within the SBC. Launching August 16th, 2026, North Hill Church is fixated on God and the people He has called His church to love. With a contemporary and welcoming environment, this unified local body praises and proclaims Jesus Christ. Gospel is central in preaching, discipleship, and service as we advance God’s kingdom!

Principal Function
The Music Leader reports to the Pastor and is responsible for helping develop the church’s comprehensive music ministry.

Responsibilities

Co-Direct the planning, organizing, conducting and evaluating of a comprehensive music program in preparing groups, soloists and choirs for internal and external ministry.

Work with the pastor in selecting music for regular and special worship services.

Coordinate the music program with the organizational calendar and emphases of the church.

Contribute to the maintenance and replacement of all music-related equipment, supplies and instruments.

Direct congregational singing at all regularly scheduled worship services.

Assist in planning and arranging an “Order of Service” for worship services.

Aid in any other tasks appointed by the pastor.

Goals

Prioritize the exaltation of Jesus over personal experience and self, helping the church body fall more deeply in love with the Lord through consistent, God-honoring worship.

Seek the Lord’s will to clarify and confirm an individual call to ministry.

Serve as a “co-laborer for Christ,” moving beyond musical execution to spiritually edify the congregation.

Expand scope of ministry as spiritual maturity grows and as the pastor identifies new areas of need.

Actively promote a church culture rooted in love, prayer, and unity. Model what it means to be “in and for” the world without being “of” the culture.
