What does an Art Supervisor do?
The Art Supervisor (AS) is an active contributor to the creative team, taking full responsibility of concept and art/design development across various projects ranging in complexity and scope. The AS is a direct liaison between creative and junior/mid-level account team members, focused on answering strategic and creative expectations. The AS has solid understanding of FDA regulations, and pharmaceutical promotion requirements across all communication channels. Additionally, the AS has an intimate knowledge of marketing/advertising principles necessary to ensure work achieves full potential, adheres to brand standards, and ensures a consistent brand experience across all channels. The AS expertly presents and defends work internally and externally as needed. The AS exhibits leadership capabilities by monitoring workload of direct reports, intervening when necessary, so that quality and timelines are not compromised. The AS plays a pivotal role in leading and elevating design/art direction across the team.
Qualifications
6+ years of experience supporting pharmaceutical clients required, with experience supporting HCP accounts preferred
The ability to lead and elevate art/design across the team, adding value wherever possible
Adept at providing constructive feedback to more junior-level creatives, advancing the creative from both a copy and art standpoint
Possesses strong conceptual skills with the ability to bring a wide range of creative solutions to every project
Leads art direction across projects ranging in scope, complexity, and channel to create a cohesive brand experience that meets/exceeds expectations
Proficient in estimating individual hours (for oneself and direct reports) for a variety of different projects
Ability to use advanced design principals to distill complex scientific information and turn it into compelling, clear data visualizations for our brands
Mastery of file-building/management best practices and The One Intouch Process
Understands the importance of utilization and works hard to hit targets for themselves and direct reports
Knowledge of accessibility best practices and a commitment to apply them to our work
Mentors and grows junior team members, elevating their designs and expanding their industry knowledge
Growing knowledge of our clients’ business and how our work impacts the business
Proactively works in close concert with planning, UX, and development to ensure team alignment
Develops strong relationships with creative, account management, product management, production, studio, and cross functional team members
Confidently presents and helps sell ideas to our clients
Volunteers to contribute to new business efforts
Mastery in developing multichannel creative (within portfolio) that displays strong conceptual thinking, strategic/business acumen, and finely crafted designs
A wide range of industry experience including launches, label updates, etc.
Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
