Head of Operations & Supply Chain

Location: New York, NY

Schedule: Hybrid

Salary: $120,000 – $160,000

Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Head of Operations & Supply Chain for a rapidly growing luxury retail organization in New York City. This is an outstanding opportunity for a strategic, hands‑on operations leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.

Reporting to executive leadership, you will oversee all U.S. operations, supply chain, logistics, inventory management, customer service, warehousing, transportation, customs, repair operations, and merchandising while leading a team of eight professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain & Inventory Management

  • Develop and execute inventory strategies to optimize stock levels across retail, wholesale, and eCommerce channels.
  • Forecast inventory requirements and coordinate replenishment with global headquarters.
  • Monitor inventory availability, shortages, allocations, and replenishment planning.
  • Analyze inventory, sales, and order data while developing KPIs and operational reporting.
  • Optimize inventory levels to maximize customer service while minimizing excess stock.

Operations & Logistics

  • Lead all U.S. logistics and distribution activities.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, inventory control, receiving, shipping, and fulfillment.
  • Manage transportation providers for both valuable and non‑valuable shipments.
  • Drive logistics cost reduction initiatives while maintaining exceptional service levels.
  • Manage customs compliance, import/export documentation, and broker relationships.
  • Oversee third‑party logistics (3PL) warehouse operations and performance.

Retail & Merchandising

  • Partner with merchandising teams to develop product assortments for boutiques and new store openings.
  • Manage retail replenishment and product availability.
  • Support visual merchandising initiatives and product allocation strategies.
  • Monitor wholesale inventory and recommend actions to maximize sales performance.

Customer Service & Order Management

  • Oversee B2B and B2C order management from order placement through delivery.
  • Lead customer service operations supporting retail boutiques, wholesale partners, and eCommerce customers.
  • Ensure exceptional customer experience through timely order fulfillment and issue resolution.

Repair & After‑Sales Operations

  • Lead U.S. repair and after‑sales service operations.
  • Coordinate repair workflows, external service providers, transportation, customs, invoicing, and turnaround times.
  • Partner with global teams to implement best practices and service standards.

Events & Special Projects

  • Coordinate inventory and logistics for luxury events and product launches.
  • Manage transportation, security, and product movement for off‑site events.
  • Support High Jewelry inventory management and special‑order processes.

Leadership

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of eight operations professionals.
  • Build scalable operational processes to support continued business growth.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operational functions.
  • Partner closely with retail, sales, marketing, finance, merchandising, and global operations teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or inventory management.
  • Luxury retail experience required; jewelry, watches, or premium fashion strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading teams of four or more employees.
  • Strong background in inventory planning, warehouse operations, logistics, transportation, customs, and supply chain management.
  • Experience managing third‑party logistics (3PL) providers.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and operational reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with CEGID or M3 is a plus.
  • French language skills are a plus.
