Job Summary
The Director of Community Relations supports the community by increasing and maintaining occupancy. This position exercises discretion in evaluating prospective residents and determining if the candidate will be a good fit. The director has authority to bind the company in resident agreements, maintains desired census, communicates with families about financial matters, interacts with the outside community, develops marketing programs and events, creates marketing materials, and manages admission records.
Position Overview / Responsibilities
- Develop long‑range and short‑range marketing plans, establish goals and objectives to increase occupancy
- Analyze data and provide competitive analysis information; consult and recommend regarding market rates
- Interview, assess, and determine if applicants are appropriate candidates for the community
- Handle financial arrangements related to admissions and acquire necessary documentation
- Conduct tours of the community for potential residents, families, visitors, and placement agencies
- Design and create advertising needs, brochures, and other marketing products
- Plan and implement marketing events
- Follow up on inquiries and maintain current waitlists
- Complete and maintain resident files
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports for admissions, discharges, sources, classifications, lengths of stay

Qualifications

- Continuing education: attend in‑service education within the community
- Education: Two years or more of college preferred
- Job knowledge: awareness of senior living community resources and services, cost structure, related neighborhood services, competition and rates
- Professional memberships: encouraged to participate in outside civic organizations
- Skills: work well with staff, residents, families, and community; communicate services to prospective residents; speak before large groups; personable and friendly; ability to drive; conduct tours; work independently
- Eligibility for benefits when scheduled at least 24 hours per week; families of such team members also eligible
Full‑time – Salary plus Commission ($78,000 per year). Exempt.
