DIRECTOR OF RETAIL SALES & OPERATIONS

ATHLETIFREAK · Tohatchi, NM, USA ·

Pay:
90.000
Job type:
Seasonal

You build the engine that connects the brand to the athlete. And you are not afraid to run it yourself.

ATHLETIFREAK is a performance athletic apparel brand built for real athletes, real movement, and real conditions — from marathon start lines to triathlon finish lines. We design gear that works as hard as the person wearing it. We are a lean, fast-moving team with big ambitions, and every role here carries real ownership. We are at a pivotal point in our growth — official sponsor of major endurance events, expanding retail and wholesale presence, and building a brand with real equity in the athletic community. We are looking for a Director of Marketing to own the marketing function entirely. Strategy, execution, and everything in between. This is not a delegation role. You will be in it.

What You'll Own

  • Overall marketing strategy: brand positioning, channel mix, campaign calendar, and performance KPIs
  • Integrated campaign development across social, email, paid, partnerships, and events
  • The content and creative pipeline — brief campaigns, direct shoots, oversee all deliverables
  • Community growth — building and engaging our athlete audience through authentic, platform-native content
  • Event and experiential marketing: race weekend activations, expo presence, and retail pop-ups
  • Athlete ambassador and brand partnership relationships
  • Influencer and affiliate programs with clear performance accountability
  • Marketing performance analysis across channels — weekly and monthly reporting with real insight
  • Brand narrative and seasonal storytelling in direct collaboration with the founder
  • Building and managing a lean, high-output marketing team over time

What We Require

  • 5–10 years of marketing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or ownership role
  • Proven track record driving brand growth — ideally in apparel, sport, or consumer lifestyle
  • Deep understanding of social-first marketing and how culture moves on platforms
  • Strong writer and creative thinker — you can shape a brand voice and defend it
  • Experience managing campaigns from brief through launch through post-analysisData fluency — you know your metrics and make decisions based on them
  • Experience with event and experiential marketing
  • Strong opinions about what good brand looks like, backed by results

STRONG PLUS

  • Experience in endurance sports marketing — running, triathlon, cycling
  • Background working with founder-led or early-stage consumer brands
  • Existing relationships with athletes, media, or event properties in the endurance sport space
