Job TitleThis position supports the VP, Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability in the development and implementation of the safety, health, security and risk management strategic plan aimed at achieving SSR Mining's value of 'Safety first, always'.The day to day:Sets the strategy for SSR Mining's safety, health, risk, and management systems and is accountable for the implementation of the strategic planManage development, implementation and ongoing improvement of safety and health management systems and procedures globallySets standards for risk assessments and facilitates risk assessments through common risk assessment techniques, e.g., bow tie analysis, HAZOP, LOPA, job safety analysis, field level risk assessment, etc.Manages development implementation and ongoing improvement of health, safety and risk information management systems globallyManages the corporate health, safety and risk audits/assessments programDevelops and facilitates training and educational programsDevelops analysis and reports trends on health, safety and risk management dataProvides on-site safety and health management support at operating assets and projectsProvides incident investigation and root cause analysis oversight and supportDevelop various safety and health related reports and ensure appropriate distribution and feedbackIs this you?Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in safety, health, risk management, or related fieldMaster's degree (MA/MS) in health & safety management, risk management, mining engineering, or related discipline and assets preferredDirect experience working in a mining organizationKnowledge of contemporary mining health, safety and risk management systems and practicesAbility to travel internationally and work at altitude (14,000 ft+). Medical verification requiredExpected range of regular travel: 30% - 40%Ability to communicate and interact effectively with site and corporate personnelAble to develop corrective actions, and provide consultation to address complex company problems/issues that lack precedent and require advanced technical skills and knowledge to resolveAble to work independently, facilitate teams and under a flexible work schedule when requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to conduct detailed analysis using database and raw safety and health data sourcesAbility to build effective relationships across all levels of the companyAbility to work with relational databases, software systems and O365 (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Power BI)Ability to demonstrate commitment to a culture that values and manages to safety excellenceWork history that includes experience with a multinational mining company and the ISOMETRIX software platform preferredCMSP, CSP, CRSP, CIH, ROH, designation desirableFor applicants residing in CO, the salary range for this role is from $200,000-$220,000.
