Role Description
The Agency Producer is a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Minneapolis–St. Paul area, responsible for driving new business growth and supporting existing clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and qualifying leads, conducting client consultations, and recommending suitable Property & Casualty and Life insurance products based on individual and business needs. The role involves preparing quotes, completing applications, and managing policy changes while maintaining accurate records in agency systems. The Agency Producer will follow up with clients regularly, provide ongoing service and coverage reviews, and collaborate with the agency team to achieve sales and retention goals. This role also includes participating in local networking, community events, and marketing activities to expand the agency’s presence in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Qualifications
Sales and client relationship skills, including prospecting, lead qualification, and consultative selling focused on understanding client needs and building long-term trust.
Insurance product knowledge and advisory capabilities related to Property & Casualty and Life insurance, with the ability to explain complex coverage options in clear, accessible terms.
Administrative and organizational skills for managing applications, policy changes, documentation, and agency systems with attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
Communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and a professional, empathetic approach to client interactions.
Self-management and teamwork abilities, such as working toward individual and agency goals, collaborating effectively with colleagues, and maintaining a proactive, results-oriented mindset.
Ability to use basic office and CRM software, learn Farmers Insurance tools and platforms, and adapt to new technologies that support sales and service activities.
Current or obtainable state insurance producer licenses (Property & Casualty and/or Life/Health) in Minnesota and Wisconsin, as required by law.
Previous experience in insurance, financial services, or sales is preferred, especially in a client-facing role; bilingual skills are a plus.
