Job Summary
An industry-leading, fashion-forward, multi-category apparel company seeking an ambitious and highly organized Product Developer - Legwear, Sleepwear, Slippers, & Intimates to join our growing team. This role is responsible for managing the product lifecycle from development through production.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator with a strong understanding of garment construction, materials, and development processes.

Responsibilities

Own the product development process from development through production

Collaborate with Creative Director and Sales teams to establish target costs and seasonal development plans

Monitor and manage the development calendar to ensure deadlines are met

Assist with vendor selection and maintain strong factory relationships

Communicate daily with overseas manufacturers and internal team members

Request, receive, track, review, and approve samples and materials from factories

Manage the sample flow through all stages: Salesman Samples, Fit Tests, Pre-Production, and TOP

Follow up on product specifications, quality standards, lab dips, testing, and sample approvals

Ensure all samples meet design, fit, and quality expectations

Organize and maintain all development samples throughout the office

Create and maintain line sheets and costing sheets throughout the development season

Ensure BOMs are accurate and finalized in collaboration with Design and Technical teams

Maintain detailed and accurate product records and documentation

Coordinate and attend product fittings

Communicate fit and construction feedback to vendors and internal teams

Coordinate with the packaging team to verify UPC assignments, labeling, and packaging details

Prepare and coordinate samples for photoshoots, NY showroom, NJ showroom, and sales team needs

Prepare purchase orders and track order detailsMonitor production status to ensure on-time delivery

Proactively identify and resolve production issues or delays

Qualifications

5+ years of product development experience within an apparel or accessories company

Strong experience in accessories and/or apparel is preferred

Experience with specs, lab testing, and quality standards

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Adobe Illustrator knowledge is a plus

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills

Strong attention to detail with a refined sense of design and color

Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Proactive problem-solver with the ability to troubleshoot effectively

Experience with socks, hosiery, and/or seamless bralettes and underwear is a strong plus
