Position Overview
The Associate Designer, Apparel supports the design and development of innovative, trend-right, and commercially successful apparel collections across licensed and private label brands. This role partners closely with Design, Product Development, Technical Design, Production, and overseas manufacturing partners to support the product lifecycle from concept through production.

The ideal candidate combines strong creative and technical design skills with a solid understanding of apparel construction, fabrications, fit, and product development processes. This individual is highly organized, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support the design and development of seasonal apparel collections across multiple product categories and licensed brands

Create CADs, technical sketches, presentation boards, and design packages utilizing Adobe Creative Suite

Assist in researching market trends, competitive products, fabrics, trims, silhouettes, and color direction

Develop product concepts that align with brand positioning, retailer requirements, and customer needs

Collaborate closely with Product Development and Production teams to ensure designs are commercially viable and production-ready

Participate in fit sessions and partner with Technical Design to ensure fit, functionality, and design intent are maintained

Communicate directly with overseas factories and vendors regarding sample development, fabric sourcing, revisions, approvals, and production timelines

Review samples throughout the development process and provide feedback under the direction of senior design leadership

Support costing initiatives and margin objectives by balancing creativity with commercial requirements

Maintain organized design files, line sheets, seasonal documentation, and presentation materials

Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting development and production deadlines

Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product Development, Production, Merchandising, and Licensing teams to support seasonal objectives and customer presentations

Complete additional projects and assignments as directed by department leadership

Experience & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field preferred

3+ years of apparel design experience within sleepwear, loungewear, activewear, licensed apparel, or related categories

Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrications, trims, and technical specifications

Hands‑on experience supporting products from concept through production

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, and PLM systems

Experience working directly with overseas factories and manufacturing partners

Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Detail‑oriented with strong creative and technical design capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

Experience within both private label and branded environments

Knowledge of retailer‑specific requirements and market trends

Experience across sleepwear, activewear, loungewear, or related apparel categories

Experience supporting both men's and women's product categories

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer

Ability to review garment samples, fabric swatches, and product prototypes

Ability to occasionally lift and move sample garments and materials up to 25 pounds

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. While the posted salary range is $70,000 - $90,000, we recognize the value of exceptional talent and are open to negotiation for the right candidate.
