Role Basics

Title: Maintenance Technician

Company: Superior Farms

Location: Denver, Colorado

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Type: Full‑time, on site

Shifts: early morning (4 AM), morning (7 AM), late morning (8 AM)

Pay: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour depending on experience

FLSA Status : Hourly, Non‑Exempt

What You’ll Take On

Perform both minor and major repairs across buildings and production equipment (complex work alongside a senior tech).

Own preventive maintenance: belts, fluids, filters, bearings, seals, and part replacements.

Calibrate and repair pneumatic systems for consistent performance.

Repair and improve facility elements: windows, doors/locks, closets; install blinds.

Keep accurate PM logs and maintenance records on daily/weekly/monthly intervals.

Use a computer interface to supervise and control utilities/mechanical systems.

Install electrical services and wiring; repair/replace wiring during remodels.

Repair electrical equipment and control circuits; replace faulty switches; service refrigeration units.

Jump into emergency maintenance when issues arise.

Support building refresh projects: plaster/drywall repair and painting.

Operate a forklift, electric pallet jack, and boom lift as needed for maintenance activities.

Ensure all work aligns with company standards and USDA regulations for a food‑processing environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; or one year of related experience/training.

Minimum one year of forklift experience.

Experience in building and mechanical maintenance/repair—or equivalent education plus experience.

Comfort with hand and power tools.

Core Competencies

Exposure to welding, plumbing, electrical, control circuits, PLCs, pneumatics, software, hydraulics, carpentry, motors, pumps, and utility equipment operation/repair.

Detail orientation and strong follow‑up; clear communicator.

Read/interpret simple instructions and correspondence; present to small groups.

Math: whole numbers, fractions, decimals; compute rate/ratio/percent; read drawings/schematics.

Understands production facility workflows; organized and able to multitask.

Accurate counting; capable in varied temperature zones.

Sound judgment and problem‑solving; working knowledge of GMPs and HACCP.

Able to work early hours, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed (not guaranteed).

Spanish/English bilingual preferred; must be able to read and write English.

Computer skills preferred for maintenance roles.

Physical Demands and Environment

On your feet: frequent standing/walking for 8–12 hours; no sitting required.

Strength: frequently lift/carry 1–100 lbs.; some tasks may exceed 100 lbs. using both arms.

Movement: frequent pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.; frequent bending; frequent kneeling/crouching/crawling; frequent reaching/handling boxes of various sizes.

Mobility: occasional climbing (trucks, racks, pallets); frequent equipment driving (forklift, pallet jack).

Conditions: frequent proximity to moving mechanical parts; occasional exposure to wet/humid areas, cold temps, high places, fumes/airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, electrical shock risk, and vibration. Noise ranges from moderate to occasionally loud.
