Plant – 3rd Shift Supervisor
Location: Bensenville, Illinois.

Reports To: Plant Manager.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000.

Summary
Oversees daily production operations, ensuring efficient and timely output while maintaining quality and adherence to safety standards. Responsible for supervising and communicating production operations to personnel to ensure all goals and standards are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Facilitate production needs and oversee day‑to‑day operations.

Create a work environment that motivates and empowers associates to meet and exceed expectations for productivity, quality, waste, sanitation, and safety.

Utilize IFS ERP system to assign the schedule to the floor.

Schedule coverage for employee breaks and lunches.

Arrive 20 minutes before shift starts to facilitate shift handover.

Check attendance phone line for absent employees and fill out necessary paperwork.

Coordinate work assignments if lines are down (e.g., cleaning lines and manifolds).

Assist operators with product issues.

Work within IFS ERP system to monitor raw material needs and supply: order required materials from in‑house supply and follow up on all requisitions and requests to ensure materials are received, available, assigned, and back‑flushed correctly.

Complete a report assessing production, downtime and problems.

Supervise, train, and coordinate activities of employees engaged in the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with company work rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices.

Coordinate production flow of different departments within the facility.

Ensure that proper start‑up and shut‑down procedures are followed as necessary.

Ensure quality of product through proper sanitation and housekeeping procedures.

Coordinate with the Quality Assurance department to ensure a quality product is produced.

Motivate employees to gain efficiencies and meet targets/expectations.

Communicate mechanical and/or process issues to the proper personnel and follow up to ensure completion.

Contact management and contractors regarding any major breakdowns or repairs.

Responsible for the safety of plant associates, lead by example and correct unsafe behavior observed or reported.

Comply with OSHA regulations.

Report all injuries and near misses to the Plant Manager and HR Department at the time of injury; conduct accident investigation and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.

Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and other shifts.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education

4‑year college degree preferred.

Must have PC knowledge, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and order‑processing systems.

Experience

4 years minimum supervisory experience in confectionary, food, or pharmaceutical companies.

Mechanical knowledge, including high‑speed packaging machinery knowledge in a manufacturing environment.

Demonstrate problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience in a union environment a plus.

Experience with IFS, SAP, GMPs, HACCP, Safety and OSHA.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk 8 hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds.
