Overview
A Relationship Manager at River Valley Community Bank is responsible for developing and managing new and existing customer relationships, delivering a range of banking services and products, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Establish profitable new customer relationships and deepen existing relationships by matching financial needs with banking products.

Develop a comprehensive understanding of client needs and provide integrated delivery of financial products/services while complying with bank policies and procedures.

Achieve assigned sales targets and goals while maintaining a high level of client satisfaction and retention.

Develop and manage prospect lists and actively call prospects to solicit and develop new relationships.

Maintain a strong referral network and represent the bank at civic and community functions.

Work closely with branch staff and other customer‑facing roles to identify opportunities for cross‑selling and product training.

Identify treasury management, deposit, and lending opportunities within existing and prospective portfolios and collaborate with the Treasury Management Officer to implement new products.

Communicate opportunity status consistently to Senior Management through scheduled meetings and as needed.

Assist the team in preventing or resolving customer issues.

Be responsible for assigned customer credit quality and reporting requirements per the bank’s loan documentation and credit policies.

Collaborate with lending, business development, and operational teams, providing hands‑on support to bank lending personnel as a deposit and treasury product expert.

Comply with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and maintain knowledge of relevant regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, and others applicable.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Relationship Manager I

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

One year or more of commercial banking relationship management experience – preferred but not required.

Previous customer service experience.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team setting to meet client needs.

Willingness to recommend bank products and services that meet client needs.

Willingness to follow bank policies and regulations while performing all duties.

Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Experience with spreading software such as Moody’s, Baker Hill, CreditQuest, or similar – preferred.

Relationship Manager II

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Detail oriented with ability to analyze and solve complex customer issues in a timely manner.

Three years or more of commercial banking relationship management experience.

Previous customer service experience.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Advanced knowledge of industry software such as Moody’s, Baker Hill, CreditQuest, or similar.

Relationship Manager III/Market Manager

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Seven years of relationship management experience.

Willingness to recommend bank products and services that meet client needs.

Proven leadership experience with ability to motivate and develop a high‑performing team.

Strong sales and business development skills with a track record of meeting sales targets.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong leadership and coaching skills; ability to lead a team of Relationship Managers.

Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Advanced knowledge of industry software such as Moody’s, Baker Hill, CreditQuest, or similar.

Compensation

Base salary commensurate with experience and standard employee benefits package.

Work Environment

Office environment requires sitting and/or standing for continuous hours, some travel within the bank footprint for client appointments, bank meetings, and community events.
