Development, Marketing & Communications Coordinator
The Development, Marketing & Communications Coordinator will plan, develop, implement, and coordinate all fundraising, marketing, and communications activities for The Arc Mid‑South. The role includes donor research and cultivation, grant writing, event planning, volunteer management, media relations, and marketing of products and services.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute an annual Fund Development Plan and Development Budget with measurable objectives and fundraising targets, sustaining the organization’s financial requirements and supporting future growth.

Identify, cultivate, and solicit individual and corporate donors and maintain a donor tracking system.

Coordinate all fundraising initiatives: research, solicitation, execution and analysis.

Explore alternative funding sources and pursue major grants.

Participate in capital campaigns and serve as project manager for capital campaign and annual fund projects.

Conduct media coverage tracking and strategize media relations to strengthen the organization’s story.

Plan and support key events (annual event, international tea, wheelchair basketball Hoops from the Heart, awards and gala, green space walk), managing logistics, promotions, donor recognition, and sponsorship solicitation.

Develop and implement marketing and advertising campaigns, track sales data, maintain promotional materials inventory, and prepare marketing reports.

Provide marketing support to sales staff, including data, market trends, forecasts, and new product information.

Organize volunteer activities, supervise development volunteers and interns, and serve as primary point person for all fundraising activities.

Ensure effective communication among volunteers and between volunteers and agency staff.

Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree or two years’ experience in fundraising or development in a non‑profit setting.

Proven track record of coordinating successful special events.

Experience with writing, communications, web content management, public and media relations.

Experience with volunteer management or staff supervision.

Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Knowledge of domestic violence and domestic violence programming.

Ability to work independently and as a team player, and to maintain confidentiality.

Graphic design experience is a plus.

Experience with fundraising software.

Basic knowledge of budgeting.

Ability to work some evenings and weekends.

Strong familiarity with local and community networks.

Physical Requirements

Occasional lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds.

Requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and talking or hearing.

Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Additional Requirements

Valid driver’s license or state‑issued ID and reliable transportation.

Current vehicle liability insurance as required by the State of Tennessee.

Pre‑employment criminal background check.

Direct deposit of paychecks.
