Global Key Account Manager - Automotive OEM (ECT-Chemetall)

At BASF/Chemetall, we develop and manufacture tailor-made technology and system solutions for applied surface technology. Our products protect metals from corrosion, facilitate forming and treatment, prepare parts optimally for the painting process and ensure excellent coating adhesion. Our technologies and products are used in a variety of industries and end markets such as automotive, aerospace, aluminum finishing and metal forming. The focus of our worldwide activities is on the development and implementation of customized technology and system solutions for surface treatment.
We are looking for a Key Account Manager - Automotive OEM to join our team; this is a remote position that covers the Southeast area. This individual must live in the Southeast area. Ensuring strategic and tactical objectives are achieved for our customers
Establishing and maintaining customer relations with engineering and technology on current and future production and assist with the roll out of new processes at the plant
Focusing on all customer interactions while maintaining high communication and involvement within the organization
Building and strengthening relationships with the global internal team (management, RD&E, customer service, plant sales, etc.)
Customer relationship management to include interaction with: Management, Materials and Process Engineering, Purchasing, Design, Q C, Environmental, Etc.
Coordinating product specifications globally (Ensure specs are global where relevant)
Developing project and product leverage around the world
Communicating needs to local directional team for new product ideas and growth
Communicating with directional team on active RD&E projects with key accounts as well as, global communication
Managing the profitability and growth of the accounts, meeting financial goals
Developing a Value-Added sales model through cost saving program implementation and through new product introduction
Understanding global cost issues relating to your account
Developing strategy & tactics for key accounts to successfully
Defining, monitoring, organizing, and communicating competitive methods and other techniques/trends of assembly
Conducting technical presentations about chemical technology at key customer locations
If you have...
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Engineering or related field is required
Minimum of 5 years of experience within a similar role is required
Prior experience managing large customer automotive OEM accounts is required
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to use value-based selling techniques to grow sales within your area
Prior project management experience is preferred
Prior team leadership experience is preferred
Comfortable using MS Office tools
Ability to travel 50% within your area which includes overnight travel

Pay transparency BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $110,000-$120,000 USD. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
