What We Need
We're seeking a seasoned radio news anchor with excellent writing skills, clear and conversational delivery, and a strong interest in local and state news.
What You'll Do
Deliver radio newscasts.
Write news stories for multiple markets.
Maintain deadlines to provide news stories in a timely fashion.
Write clear and concise news copy.
Produce, edit and write content for 24/7 Newswire.
Gather audio from press conferences, live events and partner TV stations.
Monitor sources for breaking news (wires and social media).
Finalize content using digital audio editing software.
Must have general knowledge of all current events including but not limited to political, entertainment, sports and finance.
Repackage content from producers and field reporters for newscasts.
May be called on to anchor or report as needed.
Produce short‑form reports (voicers/wraps) for anchors on the following shift.
What You'll Need
Knowledge of the Mervin Block style of writing.
Ability to run your own audio board.
Experience with Microsoft Office.
Pleasant, charismatic and well‑controlled voice; excellent pronunciation and grammar.
Experience working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented, newsroom.
Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
Must be willing to work weekends.
Previous on‑air broadcast experience is preferred but not required.
Journalism degree is preferred but not required.

Compensation
Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job‑related qualifications, and alignment with market data.
