Brand Strategy And External Presence
Define and drive LMI's external brand strategy, positioning the firm as a long-term sophisticated investor externally. Own and evolve the LMI brand identity, ensuring every external touchpoint reflects the caliber and ambition of the firm. Partner with Liberty Mutual's Global Brand and Communications team to ensure alignment within the enterprise brand and internal communications framework while maintaining LMI's distinct investment management identity. Lead the ongoing evolution of LMI's external website, overseeing design, content strategy, and bring experience with compliance marketing rules.
Marketing And Content Development
Elevate and scale LMI's marketing capabilities
pitch books, annual reports, tombstones and other compelling marketing assets, ensuring all materials meet the highest standards. Build a content engine that amplifies LMI's thought leadership through white papers, market commentary, and executive-authored content. Develop and execute a LinkedIn strategy that extends the firm's reach and positions senior leaders as credible, visible voices in the market.
Media Relations And External Communications
Own LMI's external communications strategy, including media relations, media training strategy, and narrative management. Lead and manage the relationship with LMI's external PR consulting firm, ensuring strategic alignment and high-quality output. Drive deal-related communications, including press releases for significant investments, partnerships, and milestones. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on crisis communications, reputational risks, and high-profile external-facing announcements.
Internal Communications And Team Leadership
Own LMI's internal communications strategy and communications calendar, operating as a trusted partner and advisor to senior business leaders, deeply understanding strategic priorities, anticipating needs, and ensuring the function delivers ahead of the business. Maintain close alignment with Liberty Mutual's Global Brand and Communications team and enterprise peers. Lead, develop, and grow a high-performing team, assessing evolving capability needs and building the talent, structure, and processes required to support a best-in-class function. Foster a culture of excellence, creativity, and accountability within the team.
Qualifications
10+ years of brand, marketing, and communications experience, with significant time spent in asset management or investment management firms. Proven track record of building, scaling, and leading high-performing brand, marketing, and communications teams within an institutional setting. Exceptional communicator and storyteller with the ability to translate complex investment concepts into compelling, accessible narratives across pitch books, annual reports, digital platforms, thought leadership, and investor-facing collateral. Direct experience managing media relations, external PR agency partnerships, press release processes, and crisis communications. Working knowledge of SEC marketing regulations applicable to investment advisers, including familiarity with the Marketing Rule and experience ensuring compliance of marketing materials. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively and build trusted relationships across a large, matrixed enterprise organization. Strategic and executional
equally comfortable setting vision at the senior leadership level and driving quality and precision at the production level. Collaborative, influential leader who builds strong partnerships with key stakeholders. High standards for quality, design, and brand excellence with an instinct for what makes materials stand out. Energized by fast-paced, dynamic environments with a passion for building best-in-class teams and functions. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
