About Us
For roughly 500,000 years, humans have been burning stuff to heat our homes, burning stuff to light our homes, and burning stuff to power our machines. It’s 2026, people. Let’s change that.
Right now, homes account for roughly 20% of the world’s carbon emissions. Here at Elephant Energy, we know that there is a better way. As a certified B Corp, we are committed to building a one‑stop shop that makes it easy to upgrade to a climate‑friendly home. We enable homeowners to confidently make the switch to modern, electric technologies and get their homes off of fossil fuels – all at once, or over time.

About the Role
The Social Media & Content Intern is a part‑time, creative role focused on building and maintaining Elephant Energy's organic social media presence. This person will help us show up consistently and authentically on Instagram, LinkedIn, and community channels (including Reddit), while also generating short‑form video and UGC content that feeds both organic and paid creative pipelines.
This role is part of a structured, low‑cost business experiment: we’re testing whether investing in consistent social publishing, local storytelling, and community engagement can meaningfully accelerate lead generation and reduce customer acquisition cost (CAC) in our Los Angeles area markets.
This is a high‑ownership role for someone who is self‑directed, creative, and genuinely excited about clean energy and electrification. You don’t need a marketing degree – you need strong instincts, a willingness to experiment, and the drive to create and manage content consistently.
Core Responsibilities
Manage and grow Elephant Energy's social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit) – publishing consistently, engaging daily, and growing audience organically
Create short‑form video content (Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikToks) from install footage, customer stories, and team content – using AI tools to move fast
Comfortable both behind and in front of the camera, including coaching team members during filming, hosting install tours, and presenting content for social media
Create basic social graphics and thumbnails in Canva
Build repeatable content systems and templates so the team can maintain momentum beyond the internship
Support paid campaign performance by producing UGC and video creative (a top driver of low CPL and MQL volume)
Track and report monthly channel performance – social, and community engagement – tying activity back to inbound lead signals
Supporting Responsibilities
Manage Elephant Energy's Google Business Profile – weekly posts, photo uploads, review response support, and keeping information current
Write or polish short‑form copy for posts, captions, and email blasts – conversational, educational, non‑salesy
Maintain content calendar aligned to seasons, rebate cycles, and install activity
Attend periodic team check‑ins and strategy syncs to stay aligned on priorities
Assist with cross‑market storytelling (Colorado and Massachusetts content may be shared or adapted)
Help maintain shared content asset library and organized archives
What the Role Does Not Do
Does not own paid advertising strategy, media buying, or ad account management
Does not lead customer‑facing sales or field operations communications
Does not own website development, SEO strategy, or long‑form blog content production (may assist at the margins)
Does not make final decisions on brand guidelines or creative direction – those stay with the Marketing Lead
Success Metrics
Minimum 4 posts/week across channels by end of month 1; maintained or increased through month 3
Short‑Form Video Output – At least 4–6 Reels/Shorts published per month; at least 2 pieces ready for paid creative testing by end of month 2
Audience / Engagement Growth – Measurable month‑over‑month improvement in follower count and engagement rate on Instagram and/or LinkedIn
Content System Deliverable – By end of month 3: documented content templates and a repeatable publishing workflow that a future team member could pick up and run
Organic‑to‑Lead Signal – Qualitative or quantitative evidence that social activity contributed to inbound MQL volume or lead inquiries (tracked in coordination with marketing/ops)
Qualifications
Genuine interest in sustainability, electrification, or clean energy – this is non‑negotiable
Demonstrated ability to create short‑form video content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) – links to work required in application
Comfort with AI content tools (Claude, Descript, Opus Clip, Canva, or similar)
Strong written communication skills – conversational, educational, not corporate‑sounding
Self‑starter energy – can work independently, manage their own schedule, and meet deadlines without hand‑holding
Based in the Denver/Boulder area (or willing to travel occasionally for content capture at job sites and customer homes)
Nice to Have
Experience with Instagram, LinkedIn, and/or Reddit community management
Basic SEO awareness and content optimization instincts
Familiarity with Google Business Profile and social publishing tools
Previous internship, freelance, or personal brand content experience
If you are a student interested in climate, community engagement, and hands‑on experience in the electrification space, we encourage you to apply!
