Overview
The Employee Benefits Marketing / RFP Analyst is responsible for managing the end-to-end marketing process for new and renewal business opportunities. This role gathers and analyzes client data, prepares RFPs, markets cases to carriers, and develops accurate, competitive proposals. The position also supports mid-year reviews, implementation, and carrier transitions. Success requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a deep understanding of the employee benefits marketplace.
How you'll make an impact
RFP & Marketing Process
Gather, review, and validate client data required for RFP submissions (census, plan designs, claims, contribution strategies, etc.)
Prepare and distribute Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to insurance carriers and vendor partners
Market client opportunities to appropriate carriers based on industry knowledge, underwriting appetite, and client needs
Proactively follow up with carriers to ensure timely and competitive responses
Owning the renewal pipeline by guiding Account Managers on upcoming renewals and staying on schedule with marketing timelines.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Compile, analyze, and summarize carrier quotes and plan comparisons
Develop and maintain detailed marketing spreadsheets outlining rates, plan designs, and financial impacts
Ensure a high level of accuracy in all data, identifying and resolving discrepancies quickly
Present findings in a clear, organized format for internal review and client discussions
Client Presentation & Strategy Support
Present marketing results and benefit options to internal stakeholders and/or clients
Assist in developing strategy recommendations based on pricing, coverage, and market trends
Translate complex benefits information into clear, client-friendly summaries and visuals
Carrier & Market Expertise
Maintain strong relationships with carrier representatives
Stay informed on carrier products, trends, and market conditions
Recommend carrier strategies aligned with client industry, size, and risk profile
Take ownership with carriers on deadlines.
Mid-Year Review & Data Requests
Support mid-year review presentations
Gather and analyze updated claims data and utilization reports to support remarketing efforts
Work with carriers and vendors to obtain revised quotes and options outside of renewal cycles
Implementation & Carrier Transitions
Assist with the implementation of new carriers, ensuring a smooth transition from quote to onboarding
Coordinate with account managers, carriers, and vendors to facilitate onboarding timelines and requirements
Support the processing of carrier terminations, ensuring proper documentation and communication
Help ensure continuity of coverage and minimal disruption to clients
Project Management & Team Collaboration
Work closely with multiple Account Managers and Producers across various client groups
Manage multiple marketing projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Maintain organized documentation and version control for all marketing materials
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure all materials meet company standards and regulatory requirements
Maintain strict confidentiality of client information
Uphold exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all deliverables
About You
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field)
2+ years of experience in employee benefits, insurance marketing, or underwriting support
Advanced proficiency in Excel and data comparison tools
Knowledge of group benefits (medical, dental, vision, and ancillary)
Skills & Competencies
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
Working knowledge of carrier markets, underwriting, and benefit structures
Effective communication and presentation skills
Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders
