Reliability Technician- $3000 Sign On Bonus Dudley, NC Plywood

We are seeking a safety-oriented individual to join our team in the Green End Department as a Reliability Technician in Dudley, NC. This role qualifies for a $3,000 sign‑on bonus. The person will understand the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the systems used to process logs and will drive excellence to meet department goals in safety, environmental, quality, operational metric performance, and talent development.

Salary

Pay starting at $25 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.

Shifts & Location
Day shift Monday–Friday. 139 Brewington Drive, Dudley, NC.

Responsibilities

Identify and mitigate risks as a priority.

Reinforce all safe work practices.

Develop JSA for all routine tasks and JHA for non‑routine tasks.

Raise housekeeping awareness standards and identify improvement opportunities.

Be a key player in the Human Organizational Performance (HOP) within the facility.

Understand each machine center and ensure operators understand their equipment and its care, reporting issues for documentation and resolution.

Lead maintenance efforts, including providing hands‑on assistance, creating Gantt charts of work to be performed, and ensuring completion of scheduled PMs.

Diagnose, analyze, and resolve problems on site; train other team members to troubleshoot and correct issues.

Identify and correct production issues impacting block conditioning such as conveyance of blocks, debarking, sawing, vat loading, and unloading.

Handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Apply basic problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.

Work with minimal supervision.

Maintain an acceptable work record regarding performance, attendance, and EH&S compliance.

Flexibility for any shift, holidays, and weekends.

Basic Qualifications

Two years of maintenance experience or a combination of mechanical and electrical experience.

Experience troubleshooting electrical controls, PLCs, A/C and D/C motors, motor controllers, and drives.

Experience diagnosing mechanical and electronic systems using scanning and diagnostic tools, multimeters, and computers.

Experience repairing and maintaining plant machinery in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications.

Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with precision measuring.

Experience with hydraulics (troubleshooting, schematic reading).

Experience with Planner, maintenance software, or reliability knowledge.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks including climbing ladders and working at heights or in confined spaces.

Ability to work in a sawmill environment with dust, noise, heat, and cold conditions.
