Artist Instructor – Workshop Facilitator
Location: Imagine Museum – St. Petersburg, FL
Position Type: Independent Contractor
Compensation
50/50 Revenue Share + Art Supply Reimbursement
This is an independent contractor position compensated through a 50/50 ticket revenue split. Artists receive 50% of workshop registration revenue, with Imagine Museum receiving the remaining 50%. In addition, approved art supply expenses will be reimbursed, allowing artists to focus on creating an exceptional workshop experience without absorbing material costs. Successful workshops may lead to recurring monthly classes, providing artists with an opportunity to build a loyal following and generate ongoing income.

Artists are encouraged to submit original workshop concepts designed for beginners, hobbyists, collectors, families, or experienced artists.
Responsibilities
Design and lead engaging, hands‑on workshops.
Create lesson plans that are welcoming to participants of varying skill levels.
Prepare supply lists and material budgets.
Set up and clean up the classroom before and after each workshop.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.
Demonstrate artistic techniques while encouraging creativity and self‑expression.
Collaborate with museum staff on scheduling and program development.
Arrive prepared and conduct workshops in a professional manner.
Qualifications
Professional experience as a practicing artist.
Previous teaching or workshop facilitation experience preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for sharing artistic knowledge with diverse audiences.
Reliable, organized, and self‑motivated.
Portfolio of artwork required.
Experience working with museums, galleries, community arts organizations, or educational institutions is a plus.
A strong social media presence is highly desirable. While Imagine Museum will actively market each workshop through our website, email newsletters, media outreach, and social media channels, we are especially interested in artists who can also help promote their classes through their own online following and professional networks.
