OnWrd & UpWrd is looking to hire a PR account director to join our boutique public relations and marketing agency specializing in trade associations, nonprofits, and purpose-driven organizations. Headquartered in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, with a hybrid team working remotely across the U.S., we partner with clients to build industry influence through strategic communications, media relations, thought leadership, paid and organic social strategies, and membership marketing.
We're looking for someone who is collaborative, proactive, and excited to roll up their sleeves to deliver exceptional results for clients.
Qualifications
- Strategic communications experience with experience serving as primary client liaison, maintaining close contact and developing strong relationships with client(s)
- Experience with association and nonprofit communications and marketing is preferred
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
- Demonstrate adeptness in leading projects from inception to completion, including skillful delegation, effective client delivery, and comprehensive reporting on outcomes
- Experience in communications strategy with demonstrable experience in media relations
- Ability to lead and contribute ideas in meetings and be an active problem-solver
- Ability to thrive in a fast and collaborative environment
Responsibilities
- Ensuring client goals and objectives are defined and communicated to appropriate agency departments via briefs, kickoff meetings, status check-ins, meeting notes, action items, etc.
- Lead and develop account strategy and direction for accounts; assessing client needs and business objectives and helping to define priorities for agency work
- Plan and develop exciting campaigns with the goal of exceeding client objectives
- Build relationships with clients who will expect smart counsel, creative ideas and flawless execution
- Gain a thorough understanding of the client's business and industry, becoming the "subject matter expert," and leading the agency team in understanding and applying this information to strengthen the client work
- Assist all teams to meet financial targets and growth objectives
- Research, write, edit and present high-level materials, including communications plans, press releases, pitches, social content, etc.
- Partner with Project Manager to manage workflow and prioritization, internal communications, client budgets and timely deliverables
- Build strong internal relationships across agency to produce outstanding cross-functional cutting-edge work
- Facilitate and actively engage in client meetings, providing insightful and constructive responses to client queries, and effectively communicate strategies to bolster client confidence in our efforts
- Mentor junior team members or supervise contractors, if applicable
Additional Info
- Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000, Bonus Compensation and Competitive Benefits package
- Location: This position can be fully remote, hybrid or in-person at our Old Town, Alexandria office located at 277 S Washington St Suite 210, Alexandria, VA 22314.
