Responsibilities

Assist students in scheduling and planning practice sessions and meetings.

Work positively with the Band Director to determine performance standards for percussion section members.

Encourage excellence in the performance level of all band students through individual and small group practice sessions, application of sound music theory and technique, and positive instructional techniques.

Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior, ensuring an orderly, productive environment for all band activities.

Maintain attendance records and related paperwork.

Attend marching percussion practice sessions.

Assume responsibility for the assigned activity area whenever students are present.

Encourage percussion section to attend percussion clinics.

Responsible for the selection of the percussion section.

Adhere to adopted policies of the Bellingham School Committee.

Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to relate favorably with students.
