Magic: the Gathering, the world’s first and best-in-class Trading Card Game, is hiring a new Commissioning Art Director!
What You’ll Do

Commission a high volume of artwork: identify freelance illustrators, provide continuous art direction, maintain solid relationships, and provide regular updates to the card production producer on art status.
Review print-ready files to ensure final card quality.
Participate in brainstorms on future Magic creative expressions and workflow/process improvements in partnership with department leaders.
What You’ll Bring

2+ years of commercial art experience.
A portfolio demonstrating strong creative vision with a cinematic lens.
Understanding of Magic as both a game and a brand.
Strong communication skills and comfort giving and receiving feedback.
High attention to detail and organization skills.
Deep knowledge of the current fantasy illustration market/talent and modern print/press techniques and processes.
Interest in discovering diverse, emerging artists.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Compensation

USD: $103,200 – $167,800
