Community Relations Manager Location: Los Angeles, CA. Full‑time, regular. Must work onsite five days per week. Flexible schedule including weekends, occasional travel required.
Responsibilities Oversee and support a team of community relations representatives that manage resident communications via the CRM.
Ensure seamless move‑in and move‑out experiences, processing paperwork, identification checks, and answering resident inquiries in‑person or virtually.
Coach the team on high‑standard customer service, resolving escalated issues.
Handle portfolio tasks and calls through Funnel, maintaining metrics and compliance with company standards.
Maintain deep knowledge of the community portfolio and provide guidance on property‑specific operations.
Collaborate with Community Management Team to enhance operations and customer satisfaction.
Ensure confidential resident and property information is handled professionally and discreetly.
Coordinate resident events, notice postings, and special projects to support operations.
Manage office expenses and keep them within budget.
Lead personnel lifecycle: career planning, performance management, recognition, and coaching.
Ensure compliance with company policies, Fair Housing, Landlord‑Tenant regulations, and OSHA standards.
Qualifications High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of property management experience, with 1‑2+ years of supervisory experience.
Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to supervise a team of at least two associates.
Budget management skills and ability to read, write, and speak English.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and a property‑management or CRM platform.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a centralized hub environment.
Must work onsite in the office five days per week.
Job Requirements Align with Essex policies and procedures while managing relationships with internal stakeholders (Accounting, Legal, etc.).
Maintain compliance with Fair Housing, Landlord‑Tenant, Local Building Codes, OSHA, and EEOC regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to deliver reports and presentations.
Regular, consistent, and timely attendance; flexible schedule including weekends.
Work primarily in an office setting; occasional walking and use of stairs for resident notice delivery.
Use of standard office equipment (computer, phone, printer).
Travel required for occasional meetings, training, and community visits.
