Using Game Engines and 3D toolsets, we will be working with CAD, complex instructional and procedural data to deliver cutting edge interactive training solutions.This role will report into the Simulation and Visualisation Lead.What You Will Be DoingAs a Simulation and Visualisation (S&V) 3D Artist, you will be part of the design, development & integration of the Simulation and Visualisation capability.Work with subject-matter experts (SMEs) and engineers to visually interpret complex mechanical systems, processes, or assembly stepsImport, clean, and prepare CAD models for use in Unreal EngineCreate models/assets where required, following a cost-efficient approachOptimise geometry and assets to meet real-time performance requirementsCreate and manage UVs, materials, and textures for the solutionRig mechanical and interactive models to support animations in Unreal EngineWork closely with the team to support asset integration and functionalityMaintain organised asset libraries and project documentationCreate exciting and professional promotional visualisation material for current and future projectsDevelop clear and readable visualisations for training steps, indicators, animations, and guidance elements.Support programming team by creating skeletal and animation setupsContribute to continuous improvement of development methodology and delivery pipeline.Working with Customer, User, Engineering and Procurement teams to assist in resolving design queries, problems and conflicts.Schedule own work to meet target timescales and deliverable milestones.Perform self-verification of own tasks to ensure completeness and quality of information.Provide engineering input to project submissions including cost estimating, project plans, and progress reports.WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVEEssential:Degree-qualified in Computer Games Art or relevant games discipline with post-graduate experience in a suitable artist role.Extensive experience of 3D modelling software (Blender/3DS Max), including (but not limited to):High and Low Poly ModellingUV Unwrapping and LayoutRiggingRealistic Material and Texture Creation (Blender/Substance Painter)Animation WorkflowsImport/Export Pipeline ManagementAbility to identify and develop new visualisation capabilities required by the business and maintain legacy products.Good communication skills – capable of discussing technical solutions with non-technical colleagues.Ability to work effectively with anyone with different skill sets, personalities, work styles, or motivation level.Ability to build trust, find common ground, have empathy, and ultimately build good relationships with people at all levels in both customer / supplier and RBSL communities.Desirable:Knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 including (but not limited to):Asset PipelinePerformance OptimisationMaterial Editor and WorkflowsLighting and Rendering PipelineNiagara VFX ProficiencyAgile development experience.Decimation and Optimisation of 3D CAD models (Pixyz)Experience working with CAD data in Games EnginesPlasticSCM/Unity version control.Youtrack issue and task tracking.WHAT WE OFFER YOURBSL strives to be an employer of choice and to foster a culture in which our employees are supported to build a career they can be proud.Through our contracts to deliver world-class products and support services, we offer great opportunities for personal development and career advancement via specialist technical roles, essential support functions, and broader leadership positions.In addition, RBSL offer:Competitive salaries reviewed each year against market ratesAnnual bonus incentive scheme for all employees37 hours over 4.5 days working weekEmployer pension contributions up to 10%Hybrid and flexible workingLife assurance cover5 weeks holiday plus bank holidaysHoliday purchase schemeHealth cash planSalary sacrifice benefits including cycle to work and electric vehicles schemesAccess to high street and gym discounts and cashbackLong Service rewards with additional holidayEnhanced maternity and paternity benefitsFree access to onsite gymCONTACT INFORMATIONContact Person: Iwona Kurpiewska
