Media Technician

Media Technician | $18/hour Full Time | Tuesday & Saturday off

A North Sioux company is seeking a detail-oriented, reliable Media Preparation Technician to join their team and serve as the backbone of their microbial testing operations.
Responsibilities

Weighing powdered medias and mixing to produce the enrichment medias used by the laboratory.
Dispensing warm agar media into petri dishes.
Operating autoclave sterilizer units.
Verifying and operating robotic media dispenser arms.
Collecting aliquots of enrichment medias made for quality control testing.
Logging prepared media into LIMS software.
Completing log books of media prepared and other QC tracking.
Media inventory management.
Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field is a plus.
Experience in a laboratory setting (food safety, clinical, or academic labs).
Comfortable with basic math (calculating ratios and dilutions), operating lab equipment, and using computers for data entry.
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and handle hot/heavy equipment safely.
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a team‑player mentality.
