Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced User Experience Researcher to support the UX Lead in all phases of research and design, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver user‑centered solutions.

Responsibilities

Support the UX Lead by conducting user research sessions, including interviews, usability tests, contextual inquiries and other qualitative methods.

Execute discussion guides, screeners, and research protocols defined by the UX Lead.

Observe and document user behaviors, pain points, and patterns during sessions, distinguishing what users say from what they actually do or need.

Administer quantitative data collection methods such as surveys, card sorting and tree testing in support of research plans.

Compile and organize raw research data (notes, session artifacts) into clean, structured formats for synthesis.

Conduct user experience research and optimization initiatives.

Create final visual designs, storyboards, interaction flows, and interface guidelines.

Work with product owners to prototype and iterate on multiple design solutions.

Review final implementation with front‑end developers to ensure design standards are followed.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders across teams and product bases.

Lead project life cycle design by interviewing customers, creating visual designs/prototypes, presenting information, and solving questions.

Manage diverse engineering teams in conducting user experience research and optimization.

Qualifications

Current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Ten years’ experience in User Experience Design.

Five years’ experience leading project life cycle design within the last ten years.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).

Three years of experience with screen mock‑up tools such as PowerPoint, Visio, and Axure.

Experience operating in an agile development environment requiring weekly user experience feedback.

Strong note‑taking and data organization skills, capable of accurately capturing and structuring raw findings.

Comfortable with ambiguous, evolving requirements typical of mission/IC environments and able to define research questions independently.

Reliable, detail‑oriented execution of research protocols with minimal need for independent research strategy or stakeholder presentation.

Demonstrated experience with both qualitative discovery methods (usability testing, contextual inquiry) and quantitative data collection methods (surveys, analytics review, A/B testing, card sorting, tree testing).

Experience independently running research studies end‑to‑end—including objective‑setting, study design, execution, and synthesis—is a plus.
