Minimum qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of experience negotiating and structuring agreements or leading business development.
Preferred qualifications
Experience working alongside public policy teams and with various sets of cross‑functional stakeholders.
Experience executing cross‑functional projects and scaling complex technical infrastructure developments from concept to completion.
Ability to operate independently with an entrepreneurial mindset, driving initiatives forward and identifying areas for improvement in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability and willingness to travel (up to 25%).
Representing the company externally in public forums, industry events, and other engagements.
Excellent attention to detail paired with sharp political acumen and communication skills to navigate complex local landscapes.
About The Job
Google’s strategic negotiation team secures infrastructure for Google’s growth, from underwater cables to data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you will negotiate cost‑effective solutions, manage vendor and partner relationships, and present deal recommendations to technology leadership. In this role you also serve as the Public Affairs Manager, advising on data center initiatives, shaping local and state priorities, and maximizing partnership opportunities with local institutions.
Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with regional public affairs leads to design, standardize, and execute impactful, localized public affairs programming across all markets.
Manage complex public affairs campaigns across multiple states, ensuring a cohesive and impactful strategy.
Turn local successes into scalable, repeatable toolkits for infrastructure markets, including economic impact forums, community open houses, and regional roadshows.
Collaborate with a broad set of internal teams and external partners to bring projects from concept to completion, upholding the highest standards of the organization.
Act as a key advocate for Google’s data center priorities and expand Google’s presence, influence, and executive visibility at key national and regional events.
US: $150,000 - $218,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.
