Marklund in Geneva is hiring a Graphic Designer – Video Specialist. This is a full‑time position based out of our Geneva facility with a schedule of Monday‑Friday 8:00 AM‑4:00 PM. Salary ranges from $53,000 to $57,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Who We Are
Marklund is a nonprofit organization providing residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. It operates two residential locations – the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin – and hosts a Day School and Community Day Services program.

Position Overview
The Graphic Designer will be part of the Marketing & Communications Department, creating marketing collateral for print and digital materials in alignment with brand guidelines, supporting Marklund’s programs and services.

Essential Job Functions

Create marketing, recruiting, advocacy, and fundraising materials, newsletters, ads, web pages and assets/graphics for social posts and email blasts.

Makes graphic and content updates to Marklund website.

Contributes to layout, typography, and photography decisions.

Assists the Chief Communications Officer in complex PR campaigns.

Attends and assists at special events.

Other duties as assigned.

This role supports creative projects with a combined expertise in graphic design and video editing, developing original design concepts and supporting marketing/communication campaigns across many media types. Design responsibilities will include 30% video creation/editing and 70% other design (print, events, digital media).

Required Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Public Relations, Communications or related field preferred.

5+ years of experience in Graphic Design preferred.

Excellent design and creativity skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks within a deadline‑driven environment.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).

Proficient in photography, video editing and website editing.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Experience in web content management systems.
