Technical Editor

As a Technical Editor on our team, you’ll bring process management and technical editing skills to help your client’s naval organization grow while also identifying areas for improvement. You’ll work with a team focused on naval capability develop to provide quality, consistency, and accuracy of analytical reports and processes in alignment with naval executive reporting standards. By maintaining these high standards, you ensure naval experiments are translated into actionable intelligence for leadership.
Responsibilities

Analyze and improve processes, create process maps and recommend improvements.
Write, edit, and manage approval processes for technical documentation related to DoD applications, missions, or initiatives such as after‑action reports.
Communicate insights, findings, and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
Edit content from multiple contributors to ensure consistent voice, compelling messaging, and lack of spelling, formatting, and grammatical errors.
Manage a varied workload, balance numerous priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications

3+ years of experience with technical editing.
Experience working with the front office of a military staff.
Knowledge of DoD or Navy writing standards and military terminology.
Experience with business process analysis and process improvement methodologies, including creating process maps using software such as Visio.
Ability to edit content from multiple contributors to ensure consistent voice, compelling messaging, and lack of spelling, formatting, and grammatical errors.
Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with stakeholder analysis, formulating improvements, implementing changes, and developing training materials.
Experience using AI tools to assist with writing and editing technical documentation.
Experience with process improvement methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
TS/SCI clearance.
Master’s degree.
Lean, Six Sigma, BPR, BPM, Kaizen, or RIE Certification.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $55,200.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD). Full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Compensation is determined by factors such as location, education, skills, experience, and organizational requirements.
