Job Description In this position, you will safely and efficiently operate 2 Air Separation Units (ASUs).
Responsibilities Maintain high housekeeping standards for assigned areas of responsibilities (AORs).
Demonstrate an overall understanding of plant safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies/procedures.
Instill safety in others by being safety minded; model good safety practices.
Work safely in all situations.
Perform all work in compliance with standard operating and maintenance procedures, utilizing current Life Safety‑training skills and safety requirements including safe work permits, energy control isolation and IDLs, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre‑job discussions, plant safety inspections, etc.
Ensure contractors, visitors, co‑workers and others comply with company safety policies/procedures.
Issue safe work permit documentation and perform lock‑out tag‑out of equipment.
Acquire knowledge/ability in all plant operations including processes and equipment.
Exhibit instrumentation and mechanical aptitude.
Troubleshoot process, equipment, or instrumentation issues.
Learn and follow standard operating procedures, corporate procedures; read and interpret flow charts, process piping ISOs, simple schematics, P & ID, electrical schematics; perform basic math operations.
Identify potential maintenance needs and enter them into the work‑order maintenance management system (Maximo).
Keep accurate records and be diligent in documentation and record retention policies and procedures.
Demonstrate knowledge/understanding of control board and operator interface computer consoles.
Perform operator rounds, water samples, operations PMs.
Perform job responsibilities of Transport Technician during weekends and nights.
Calibrate process analyzers and maintain all required documentation.
Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required.
2+ years of technical training or operations experience.
Ability to work extended hours/shift work as business needs dictate.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and possibly holidays to meet shift and on‑call requirements.
Valid Driver’s License.
Knowledge/understanding of instrumentation, rotating equipment, and piping systems.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants (Process Safety Management, EPA regulations, FDA regulations, state/local regulations).
Knowledge of proper methods of locking out and isolating equipment.
Ability to use computers—knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Ability to work in a team environment; self‑motivated attitude.
Good verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with management and external customers.
Qualification in operation of forklift, man lift, and overhead crane is preferred.
Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing.
Full range of motion; ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders, work off elevated platforms/surfaces.
Ability to work in non‑conditioned environment for extended periods.
Ability to enter confined spaces for inspection, testing, and work.
Preferred Qualifications Technical Associate’s degree preferred.
